Significance

Recently i've spent a lot of time pondering the meaning of what it is to be significant, to really matter. More over, i've been thinking about where i get my significance from.

So before i continue. Where do you get your significance from? 

Maybe you achieve significance from Money. Always chasing more. Maybe Sex? How many people can you get to make you feel significant before the weekends out? Maybe its drugs, or at least the acceptance of people which you get high with. 

Blunt Truth. All these things are futile. Your money will depreciate, You will never find significance in how many strangers you've slept with, Drugs will always leave you wanting more, and even the healthiest of relationships will still leave you clinging to someone else's approval of you to create your significance.

Now, I guarantee that you are reading this right now, Thinking "He's going to play the Jesus Card". 

You'd be wrong. 

I'd like to address the issue of your identity, because ultimately, that is where you find your significance. Who do you think you are? Where do you hold what is central to you?

Perhaps what is central to you is your Sexuality. 

Perhaps it's your Bank Account. 

Perhaps it is Jesus.

What is central to your identity ultimately defines who you are. It defines you're actions, it defines what you hold to be true, how you react, how you vote, who you chose to interact with, what you are willing to compromise on and what you are not. So in the end, chose what you find significance in, and how you chose to identify yourself carefully. It marks who you are.
